Social Issues
Governments exist to protect life, liberty, property, and one's pursuit of happiness.  As government control increases, liberty decreases.  It is not the purview of the government to look after things outside this arena.

I support equal rights and equal justice for all individuals.  Equality before the Law is what civilization is all about.  We all know that not everyone is truly equal, nor is it right to try and force them to be so.  But, we can all have equal standing before the law, have our rights respected, and expect the fair execution of justice.

One's rights are not gained by being a part of a group (sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation, race, color etc.),  but by one's natural existence as an individual.  As such, all people should have equal rights and the responsibilities that go with those rights, regardless of their membership in any of the previous categories.

Freedom is the right to live as you choose, as long as you allow everyone else to do the same, and accept the responsibilities of that right.  This is the challenge.  However, I think we are up for it.
Specific issues

Abortion

Abortion, in my mind, is not a social issue.

All life is valuable, and all individuals deserve to have their rights protected, even if they are incapable of protecting those rights themselves. Abortion is murder. If we allow the state to decide when a person is a human, and when they are not... that is a slippery slope I do not want to tread.

Marriage

I believe that all individuals have the right to freely associate. As such, I would like to see the State out of the marriage issue all together. Why do you want a state seal of approval on your marriage? Is not the consent of your partner, the inclusion (possibly) of your Church, and under the sight of the Creator enough?

Marriage license came about after the War Between the States as a means to discourage inter-racial marriages. Before that, there were no marriage licenses, no state approval. Why would we continue to support a tool of racist collectivism?

Consenting adults can associate in whatever way they wish, as long as the individual rights of no-one involved are violated.

Discrimination

We can agree that the discrimination on individuals based on color, race, sex, age, creed, etc. is a cancer in our society.

But no truly free society would seek to restrict the actions of private citizens and businesses in regard to whom they would hire, associate with, etc. As long as those individuals are free from violence, no free society would restrict those others who think differently.

And no descent person would patronize those businesses.

Affirmative Action is institutionalized racism. Its simply continues the articicial divisions in our society. It is time we leave that history behind, and embark on a new journey... Morgan Freeman might agree with me:
