Life | Liberty | Property
Big Ideas
Government:
- Government exists only to protect the Life, Liberty, and Property of
the Citizens who institute it.
- The Constitution exists to protect the people from its government.
- Taxes should be as low as possible, spending should be as little as
possible.
- We should use paper ballots, hand counted.
- We should institute tort reform, to stop frivolous lawsuits.
- The government can only give what it takes away from someone else.
- Gov't should never be in debt.
- The People know best how to run their lives and spend their money.
- War should always be defensive.
- Gov't has no business in our homes, our pockets, our phones, our
cars, our offices, ....... ad infinitum.
Individuals:
- The only rights are Individual rights, based on our existence as
humans (natural rights).
- All individuals should receive equal rights and justice.
- We have no right to another's life, wealth, or property.
- No one's life is so perfect that they should worry overly much about
another's private behavior.
Economy:
- Free-Markets produce the most prosperity for
the most number of people.
- States should enact legislation to protect their environment, not the
Federal Gov't.
- Money should be commodity-backed, preferably with gold or silver.
- A Dollar should mean "a certain weight in gold."
- When the economy is managed, the people suffer; esp. the middle- and
working- classes.
- People decide value subjectively, they know what they want, and what
they will pay for it.
- Taxation is theft.
- Central Planning Fails.
- The Piper always has to be paid, the bills come due eventually and
debt is dangerous.
- Inflating the money supply does not create wealth. Cut all
the
bills in your wallet in half, are you twice as wealthy?
Education:
- Locally elected boards should manage schools.
- The Federal Gov't has no business in our schools.
- Since the creation of the Dept. of Education, American educational
achievement is down.
- The elimination of the Dept. of Edu will allow us to tax less, and
for local bodies to manage their schools.
Foreign Policy:
- War is not profitable for everyone.
- No Free Nation should ever go to war offensively.
- We should set a good example by getting our house in order, and being
a Nation of Liberty.
- Everything has consequences, and not always what we expect, blowback.
- People do not welcome invaders.
- We would not like a Chinese base the size of the Vatican outside of
Charleston, and for good reason! We should recognize others will not
like it either.
- We do not know what is best for other countries, they do.
- We have no business footing the bill for the rest of the world when
we cannot afford our current government.
- Aid should come from charities and private organizations.
- Diplomacy.
- Liberty.
- Trade.
- Laisser Faire
- No entangling alliances, trade with everyone.
- We should not go to war because the UN, NATO, or anyone else says we
should.
- Americans do not need to be dying in foreign countries. Bring them
home.
- We do not need over 700 bases in other countries; nor soldiers in
Germany, in Japan, in Korea.... etc.
